An hourglass that never needs turning

Real hourglasses only measure one length and can stick or run unevenly. This one works for any time you set, and the sand level always matches the time left.

While the timer runs, a thin stream falls through the neck and a small dip forms on the surface. Pause it and the sand settles.

    Questions and answers

How long does the hourglass run?

As long as you set: tap a quick pick, a preset, or choose Custom for any length up to 12 hours.

Does the sand run at an even rate?

Yes. The sand level is worked out from the shape of the glass, so the top drains and the bottom fills at exactly the rate time passes.

Can I use it full screen?

Yes. Press Full screen to show only the hourglass and the time, on any phone, tablet or computer.

    Can I hide the numbers?

The time shows under the hourglass. For a numbers-free look, try the Random timer with Keep the time a secret, or simply watch the sand.
