    Let the timer keep time

Checking the clock pulls you out of practice. With a timer you can let go of time completely, because the chime will tell you when the session is over.

The Candle style is a quiet thing to rest your eyes on before you close them, and it burns at an even pace.

    Simple sessions to start with

    • Three minutes of slow breathing: in for four, out for six.
    • Five minutes of noticing sounds around you.
    • Ten minutes of breath focus as a daily habit.
    • Twenty minutes for a full body scan.

    Build a routine

Short daily sits are easier to keep than long ones. Start with five minutes and add a minute each week. The timer remembers your last length.

    Questions and answers

    How long should I meditate?

Five to ten minutes a day is a good start. Consistency matters more than length, so pick a time you can keep every day.

    Is the end sound gentle?

Yes. The chime is a soft three-note bell that plays twice. You can also turn it off and simply open your eyes when the candle is out.

Will my screen turn off during the session?

While the timer runs, urTimer asks your device to keep the screen awake. You can also dim it or place the phone face down.

Can I add intervals, like a bell every five minutes?

Turn on Repeat with a five minute length, and the timer chimes and starts again every five minutes until you stop it.
